Seattle Yoga News – Studio Openings is the New Black

Hollywood has movie premieres, Seattle has yoga studio openings.

  • This weekend, Be Luminous in South Lake Union is holding their Opening Celebration on Saturday November 21st, from 5-9 pm.
  • 8 Limbs Yoga Phinney Ridge is running behind schedule, and instead of opening this weekend as planned, they’re opening on Thanksgiving Day, and the partay is held on Friday, December 4th, 4-8:15pm.
  • Breathe Hot Yoga is also planning an Opening Party sometime on the weekend of December 4th-6th.

And, fresh off of the rumor mill, exclusive to yours only, yet another space for yoga is being planned in the South Lake Union area.

So far, no savvy couture designer has stepped up to offer a new outfit for each occasion, but it might be only a matter of time, since we *do* have a studio named Haute Yoga in the Queen Anne neighborhood. How soon until we have yoga paparazzi?

  • I knew that the West Coast was a hotbed of yoga, but I didn’t know that Seattle was the hotspot. Do all the new studios actually make it past two or three years?

Re bidalasana, I’d say that all match (because all are the same white kitty, nevermind the fashion statements). I’m a cat person, too ;-)

  • It’s not the fact that more studios open to meet more demand (?) it’s more a question of how many vanillas can one stand.
It is clear that cloning is alive and well in the yoga community. And it’s green that’s the new black!
